  • OK! I love me my amontillado even tho i'm already half drunk.
  • Hey I have a spare cask of amontillado at my place if you wanna come over and take it from me.

  • right this way keep up my little fortunato.
  • In they story "The Cask of Amontillado" Fortunato ruined Montresor's reputation by insulting his past family and him. Montresor vowed revenge on Fortunato for insulting him by death. Fortunato will be killed by Montresor for insulting him and his past generations. He will fake having Amontillado so he can bring Fortunato to his home and kill him.

  • Montresor's revenge can be justified because Fortunato insulted his origins, so by that Montresor will kill him for it.

  • In the text of the story the narrator states that Montresor will kill Fortunato because he has made a fool out of him.
  • Conclusion
  • In the begging of the text Montresor stated "Fortunato had insulted me. So I vowed revenge." Meaning that he was going to lure the Jester into his home and kill him.
  • So is it just on this side of the door kind sir.
  • This supports the claim because Montresor was insulted by this jester and vowed to kill him for insulting his family. He said he was going to capture and trick Fortunato so he can imprison him in the catacombs.
  • Wait Wheres the wine.
  • So this proves that Fortunato was captured and buried alive in Montresors catacombs. He was trapped in the wall by bricks and was never seen again.
