  • Let's talk about The Swine Flu.
  • Pigs are the most important reservoir.
  • A human respiratory infection caused by an influenza strain that started in pigs.
  • Infected droplets are expelled into the air through coughing or sneezing.
  • Spreads from person to person, either by inhaling the virus or by touching surfaces contaminated with the virus.
  • Typical treatment includes rest, pain relievers, and fluids.
  • The symptoms of swine flu are: Chills, fever, coughing, sore throat, runny or stuffy nose, body aches, fatigue, diarrhea, nausea and vomiting.
  • Swine flu was first recognized in the 1919 pandemic and still circulates as a seasonal flu virus.
  • First case in the US was diagnosed on April 15, 2019.
  • Vaccination is the best way to prevent or reduces the chances of becoming infected.
