In this scene, it can be seen that Martain Luther King Jr. is advocating for civil rights. This is a direct parallel to Catherine the great advocating for enlightenment theories.
We need to stand up for our rights. I want everyone to help me implement civil rights for us blacks into the U.S government.
In this scene, Martain Luther King gets a threat of security from a man and this threat compels him to stop his reform. This is similar to Pugachev's Revolution when Catherine has a threat of her throne.
I might have to stop my civil rights reform.
I have killed your brother. If you keep on advocating for civil rights, I will do more.
In this last scene, Martain Luther King stops his civil rights movement in order to keep him and his family safe. This is similar to when Catherine stopped encouraging enlightenment theories because she didn't want another rebellion that would threaten her autocratic rule
I have decided to stop this civil rights movement because I want to be safe and want any more harm to my family.
