Good vs Evil- Hypocrisy and greed are the foundation for evil. This is relation to Tom's fate and it is clear it will not go unpunished. This also means it is avoidable with value and a good set of judgment.
Manipulation- Old Scratch who is a character in the book manipulates Tom into thinking he can get great health and vast fortune. On the other hand, Tom manipulates clients who come to him for a simple loan. This isn't noticed till the very end when people realize it.
Bargaining- Tom has this mindset of where there is no punishment or consequences with the Devil. He should be cautious when doing a deal with the Devil. His "contract" should be clear and comprehending.
Greed- Tom makes a deal with the Devil just so he can be rich and have fortune in life. It's important to know that the reader is warned to not let wealth get the best of them or it may be bad.
Religion- Towards the end of the story, Tom believes he can pay for his sins by going to church and reading the bible. Though, he condemns Puritans for persecution and intolerance towards the religion.
Values- Tom loves and values wealth and the prosperity for it. He chooses this over loving others and cares more for his lost possession's. He doesn't care for his wife's murder and in the end Karma comes back to bite him.
