Actions speak louder than words. For english

Storyboard Text

  • It is always the same. You cry out, they stay silent. You stay silent. They start talking...they shield their eyes as if I am a deadly disease. To them I am a disease.
  • They all turn from me. All except one man...Today, November 7th, is the same. He appears on the corner, yellow shirt and black pants.
  • Quickly, I lower my eyes (so as to not get caught staring), and shift my head into my hands.
  • God, please give me a breakthrough!
  • I feel a presence over me suddenly. Curiosity overwhelms my mind and I raise my head once again. The man (the one in the yellow shirt) is standing at my feet.
  • For months I have been without a home. My wife and daughter were murdered before my very eyes.
  • Why don't you come and stay with me a little while? I just lost my wife and daughter. I could use the company.
  • Smiling, we saunter off, chattering like tomorrow will never come. We arrive at Jeremiah's house a short while later. I had not realised how close he was to that weather-beaten bus stop I had been sleeping in.
  • I thank God for all he has done for me...And although I have been taken from the clutches of homelessness, a question crosses my mind.
  • Why is it that whenever you begin to settle with something, you must always walk away from it?
