Nitrogen Cycle

Storyboard Text

  • Hi! I am Nitrogen in the atmosphere. Now I am going to tell you about my journey on Nitrogen Cycle.
  • When I got into the soil, I met legume plant. Then the bacteria in the legume plant combined me with hydrogen and I turned in to Ammonia(NH4+). And this process is called Nitrogen Fixation.
  • To help the growth of plants, I became Nitrate through the process called Nitrification. And the bacteria in legume plant and soil helped me to become Nitrate.
  • One of the herbivores called Rabbit ate the legume plant that I was absorbed in as a Nitrate.
  • After few years, the Rabbit that ate me died so the fungi and bacteria Decomposed the rabbit and me. Thus I turned back in to Ammonia and Nitrites (NO2). This process in called Decomposition
  • Through the process called Denitrification, I was broken down into Nitrogen gas (N2) by anaebolic bacteria. Then I am back to the atmosphere.
