Story about Vaccines

Storyboard Text

  • This is Vanessa. She is going to go to the doctor's tomorrow to get her vaccinations for the flu.
  • "Alright your vaccination is done. There is a very high possibility you will not get the flu." Doctor Mason says. " Thank you so much. I think I should go now." Says Vanessa.
  • Thanks!
  • Done!
  • "Not so fast. I'm afraid you have small pox." The doctor mumbles. "WHAT?!" Screams Vanessa.
  • WHAT?!
  • You have small pox....
  • "Don't worry about it. We will vaccinate you with cow pox so that it will prevent you from having small pox." Says Doctor Mason.
  • The other white blood cells will then make antigen, special bits of protein shaped to stick on the microbe's antigen.
  • When you have smallpox your body will use these cowpox antibodies as smallpox and cowpox are similar.
  • A white blood cell will find the body of the dead microbe and spread it around to the other white blood cells.
  • After the vaccination, Vanessa lived a happy life. She did not get small pox again.
