Slaves had been transported to ships and chained aboard, families and friends would be split up.
But what about my family?
Roaming on the ships was not allowed and slaves were stowed away below.

Conditions below were horrid, diseases and lack of hygiene was rapid, along with hunger.
So cramped... So hungry...
Men were put to work as blacksmiths, laborers, and more. Slaves were put into small shacks as a place to sleep.
Many were also put to work as servants on these plantations, serving food and doing other household jobs.
