The Declaration of Independence is the statement adopted by the Continental Congress meeting at Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 4, 1776, which announced that the thirteen American colonies, then at war with Great Britain, regarded themselves as thirteen newly independent sovereign states, and no longer a part of the British Empire. Instead they formed a new nation—the United States of America. John Adams was a leader in pushing for independence, which was unanimously approved on July 2.
The Articles of Confederation was the first written constitution that was hopefully going to be the framework for a better tomorrow, though it did fail in its attempt it did help see some of the flaws and other things to look into for a more perfect government.
There is the legislature which has two houses the senate and house of representatives, they help create laws. Then there is the executive branch that helps enforce the laws. Lastly there is the Judicial branch which is headed by the supreme court and they interpret the laws.
