  • In the short story, "The Cask of the Amotillado," by Edgar Allen Poe, there was a man with the name Montresor needed to get back at Fortunato for insulting his family and also him. His revenge was to lure Fortunato with Amotillado into their catacombs. Montresor eventually traps Fortunato into a small space and keeps him there forever.
  • Evidence
  • It was not reasonable for Montresor to kill Fortunato just because of a little insult.
  • Analysis.
  • It was just a little insult that could be talked about or delt with in a kilndly manner. Also, delt with insted of killing
  • Conclusion
  • Montresor says "Fortunato has insulted me, I vowed revenge" (Poe,27)
  • This shows that all Fortunato did was just a insult. Its wasnt like he ruined his lifeand killed everyone that he loved. He only gave him a insult .
  • In conclusion, Montresors actions against Fortunato was unjustified and unreasonable to kill him.
