  • The Muslims were being targeted by the French for many years.
  • I'm strong and fierce! Nobody can stop me!
  • The governor of Spain, Abd er Rahman wanted to raid the Franks territory, but he also wanted to rest on his Northern Border.
  • In the Battle of Tours, historians believed that the two armies met along two rivers between the Tours and Poitiers. However, the historians are still unsure.

  • Charles made sure that his army would be seen by the Muslims when they trotted along. Charles’ soldiers that were on foot were protected with their spears and swords to fight against the Muslims.
  • Charles, who was now called (hammer) was given the nickname for being so strong and fierce. Charles drove the Muslims out of the area. He would then continue by defeating the Muslims in a battle near yet another river, River Barre.
  • A note that got sent to the Battle of Tours that sounded made-up was actually credible. Frankish bakers celebrated the victory by making fresh croissants for the Franks who fought hard against the Muslims.
