  • Large amounts of Anglo-American Imagrants 
  • Welcome to Mexico!
  • 1835 Mexican Dictator
  • I claim myself dictator of mexico.
  •  Battle of Gonzales 
  • They moved there to start farming. They adjusted by still speaking English and did not change their religion.
  • Battle of the Alamo
  • The new dictator of Mexico got that place by overthrowing the constitution and making himself dictator. The man who did this is Santa Anna. His actions towards the american immigrants were that he did not like them. 
  • Battle of San Jacinto 
  • Man a hard fought 20 minute battle.
  • What happened at the battle of Gonzales is the Mexican army came to disarm the Texans but couldn't. What is significant is that when the cannon fired the Mexican forces fled. 
  • Texas Statehood
  • At the Alamo the Texan forces defending there grounds. The significance is that there was about 200 Texans and about 1600 Mexicans and the Mexicans lost about 600 of their men, but all of the Texans died. 
  • The battle of San Jacinto made sure that mexico wouldn't regain the territory that they had lost so this battle meant the end of the war. The significance is that it lasted less than 20 minutes. 
  • Finally after the war Texas became a state 9 years later in 1845. What took the United States so long is that they wanted to keep the slave to free states equal.
