  • The exposition of Magdalena Looking is the establishment of Magdalena's responsibilities . In this certain scene, Magdalena is shown having to go to the market to get groceries for her family, and in the end not having enough money to pay for them all.
  • Falling Action
  • The rising action of Magdalena Looking is when Magdalena's father finally decides to paint a portrait of her. This is a pivotal moment of the story because over the course of previous parts, Magdalena's father is portrayed as a selfish man with little love and interest for Magdalena.
  • Resolution
  • The climax of Magdalena Looking is during the auction of art when Magdalena sees the portrait that her father had painted of her. This portrait meant so much to her because recently her father had died and this was the only memory that she had, not only of her father, but her failed dream of becoming an artist.

  • The falling action of Magdalena Looking is when Magdalena loses the auction, and must realize, or make up the fiction, that it is going to a good place and will be better off there. In this scene, Magdalena must come to terms with the facts that her dreams and her father both are gone.
  • The resolution of Magdalena Looking is only a literary representation of one. In Magdalena's reality, there is no resolution to her problem, seeing as she still is as sad and unknown in her adulthood, just as she was in her childhood.
