Anne is also lectured by her mother. She wants to slap her across her face whenever she speaks to her. Anne tries to hide in her room, but she can't. The annexe is so small that its difficult trying to escape from everyone. Her father, who she calls "Pim,"tells her whats right and wrong. Anne sucks in every word, she loves her father, he is her favorite person in the world. But he doesn't always listen like Kitty.
"In spite of everything i still believe people are really good at heart."
With Kitty, her fountain pen, and the window, Anne would enter another dimension. She told Kitty how the things she took for granted, she longed for more than ever. Anne wanted to go outside, she stared out of the window almost everyday, and wrote.
Her mom, Mrs.Van Daan, and even her father annoy her. Anne feels her sister won't understand what she feels. She begins to long for more than a friend. Someone she can share her feelings with, and they can share theirs. Anne begins to have an interest in Peter. When he first came to the annexe she felt he was lazy, But know Anne feels she sees him for who he really is. He shares his feelings and she shares hers. And soon they share how they feel about each other.
