I hope you are all ready for our exam today.
Katie is shocked. She dozed off the night prior from overdosing on Codeine, and forgot to study. As a result, she doesn't know many topics covered on her exam.
Right after the test, Katie also begins to feel extremely sick. She goes to the bathroom to vomit, despite the fact that she has not eaten due to lack of appetite. Katie thinks it is her headache developing into something worse, and does not realize that it is really a side effect of overdosing on Codeine.
After vomiting, Katie heads back to her dorm to take some more Codeine in hopes that it will cure her, when in reality it will just make the situation worse. She overdoses again because she is oblivious to the fact that Codeine, is in fact an addictive and dangerous drug.
The next day, Katie was still experiencing similar symptoms: sleepiness and vomiting, despite the fact that she was taking Codeine. She is now beginning to realize that her symptoms could likely be a result of her overdosing. Because of this, Katie decides to not take Codeine for the day.
The next day, Katie is feeling much better. She is able to concentrate in class, and her headache and vomiting ultimately stop as well. However, the teacher assigns extra homework that day.
The stress of the day is really getting to Katie. She remembers how great and relaxed she felt when she overdosed the first time. She convinces herself that she would only overdose today because of the stress, and promises she won't do it again.
