  • The presentation will begin by identifying common attitudes towards the HEI/Student relationship (customers v partners) and asking particpants to evaluate their own perceptions and feedback via Padlet (ILO 3)

  • This section will contextualise what we mean by 'student experience'  and introduce student experience related academic theories (ILO 1) 
  • What Now? (ILO 5) *could gain more support by demonstrating by showing how the faculty is supporting improvements*

  • Continuing to use academic resources as evidence, I will highlight the importance of 'student experience' by demonstrating how it is intrinsically linked with attainment/engagement/success and even university finances and reputation.  (ILO 2)

  • Participants will be provided a summary of the current standing of the University, and more importantly, the Faculty. Specifically, participants will be shown how the faculty compares to other universities in league tables, NSS. In addition, participants will see school module evaluation and student attainment results. Thoughts and discussion through padlet encouraged (ILO 4)
  • The TEF doesn't measure teaching excellence!
  • You can't trust league tables
  • Participants will be encouraged to make suggestions for actions  via padlet (ILO 5). Meanwhile, I will summarise the actions of the faculty going forward through the action plans/school strategies. The presentation will finish with a summary of my role going forward and the responsibilities of participants which is to engage with student experience improvement projects.
  • This is what I'm doing, but we all have a responsibility to improve the lives and experience of our students
  • Final questions and comments made via padlet will be addressed and participants encouraged to contact me for more information via contact details given. Participants will leave with a greater understanding and appreciation for student experience and the work of those striving to make improvements in this area.
