Hi. My name is rainy the raindrop. Have you ever wondered what it feels like to be a raindrop? I’ll show you!
The heat from the sun heats me up, and then I turn into water vapour! This is called evaporation! The water from plants will evaporate too! This is called transpiration.
I have formed into a rain cloud. This is because of condensation. After I get heavier I will fall as rain, snow or sleet. This is called precipitation.
I have now fallen as a droplet again. Some of the precipitation that lands on the surface of the ground infiltrates into the ground until it reaches rocky material. This is ground flow
I am now very close to the sea again! I am about fall back in it. I have not been absorbed by the ground, so I will flow downhill. This is called surface runoff.
I am back at the sea. That was a fun trip. This is called the hydrological cycle. This cycle repeats again and again
