  • One fateful October day in Paris during the French Revolution...
  • The women in the market place were outraged by the skyrocketing prices of food, especially bread.
  • I'm sick of these prices increasing!
  • Boo! Let's riot!
  • BREAD >$7
  • This bread! It's much too expensive!
  • The women's protests intertwined with those of the revolutionaries who were seeking liberal reforms. The riot grew to thousands!
  • BOO!
  • BOO!
  • BOO!
  • I Want my bread!
  • The women, encouraged by revolutionaries, raided the city armory for weapons. They then marched to Versailles to make their demands.
  • Boo!
  • Let's go to Versailles!
  • Boo!
  • The crowd of Women were able to besiege the palace and successfully press their demands upon King Louis XVI
  • BOO!!
  • BOO!!
  • I Want my Bread!
  • The next day, the crowd compelled the king, his family, and most of the French Assembly to return with them to Paris.
  • Goodbye Versailles, hello Paris
  • Louis, look what you did!
