  • The British soldiers got to stay in the houses of the colonist without paying them. The colonist also had to feed them without charging them. The colonist hated soldiers. So they formed groups to protest.
  • Boston tea party
  • The Boston Massacre began when British soldier Hugh White and a few other colonist started an argument. The argument began to escalate when drunk colonist gathered and began to trow sticks and snowballs. Then an object thrown from the crowd hit a British soldier and he fired as he was falling. Many articles and brochures were printed by colonist making the Brritish look cruel and violent
  • Massachusetts government act
  • I have all the power
  • The Boston port act was the first of The Intolerable Acts to be passed. The act closed the port of Boston to all ships until colonist paid for the tea they threw away.The colonist felt punished because only a few had committed the crime.
  • The stamp act
  • Now we cant play cards!!!:(
  • Dump all the tea!!!!
  • In late November 1773 3 ships arrived to the Boston harbor. The tea tax was paid as soon as the tea was unloaded.The sons of liberty gathered 3 groups and dumped 342 chest of tea into the harbor which was worth about 1 million dollars. Some colonist agreed and other colonist thought it was the wrong thing to do.
  • The Massachusetts act changed the government of the colony of Massachusetts.It gave more power to the governor [who was appointed from great Britain] and took away power from the colonist. this act angered the colony of Massachusetts.
  • All printed items are required to have a stamp saying that you played tax. Newspapers ,licenses,Legal documents, and even playing cards. The colonist were upset and couldn't afford to buy these items so they boycotted stamped goods.
