Storyboard Text

  • Indus River Valley Civilization
  • The Indus River Civlilization was located along the Indus River in Ancient India, which is now Pakistan.
  • Our Civilization lasted for 200 years from 1900 BC to 1700 BC.
  • The Indus people had dogs, monkeys, birds, lizards, and snakes for pets.
  • Many people had their workshop inside their houses, which were made from mud brick
  • Lots of people spent most of their time on their roof, because it was cooler than the inside of their houses.
  • Then the water flowed out of the house through pipes and into a drain on the street.
  • To take showers, the Indus people stood on shower trays and poured clean water on themselves.
  • The Indus people had a Great Bath in the middle of their cities.
  • They bathed in the Great Bath because they thought that it made them pure.
  • This was useful because not many people could read but they could recognize the symbol on the seal.
  • The Indus people used seals as tags when they bartered.
  • The Indus people traveled on boats to trade.
  • Their trade partner was Mesopotamia.
