- This is Argos. He has waited almost 20 years for Odysseus to return. It seems that his body is too weak now
- Almost Reunited
- We have someone who might no where Odysseus is.
- He says to wait until night, as to not trigger the jealous suitors.
- I want to see him please.
- While Eumaeus is taking Odysseus to the palace, they come across one of the suitors who attacks Odysseus (the beggar).
- Irus
- As you wish...
- You must fight me for this seat!
- Odysseus sees his old dog, Argos who is slowly dying due to his prolonged wait for him.
- Fight! Fight! Fight!
- You better not llose this Irus or I will send you away!
- When they go into the palace Odysseus gets harassed by the suitors. Meanwhile Eumaeus goes upstairs to tell Penelope about the beggar.
- Warning
- You must not stay here any longer or bad things will happen.
- Irus tries to pick a fight with Odysseus over the seat he is on.
- Odysseus fights him and ends up winning, which was unexpected by the suitors
- They give Odysseus food as a reward and Odysseus warns of a catastrophe if he continues to stay there.
- Here is your food as a reward, sir.
