  • Oil. Today I will be telling you all about oil.First how oil is formed. Oil is a fossil fuel that has been formed from a large amount tiny plants and animals such as algae and zooplankton. These organisms fall to the bottom of the sea once they die and over time, get trapped under multiple layers of sand and mud.Oil can be found in many areas like North dakota,Texas,New mexico, alaska, and okalahoma.
  • Next thing I'll be telling you about is how oil is pumped. Light and medium oil can flow naturally to the earth's surface and is generally extracted from the ground using vertical drilling and pumping this includes Canada's offshore oil. This “light tight oil” can be recovered using horizontal drilling and hydraulic fracturing.
  • Now we will be talking about how oil is used. Oil can be used for mayn everday things such as Gas to propel vehicles, to heat buildings, and to produce electricity. Oil is also used to make products such as plastics, polyurethane, solvents, and hundreds of other intermediate and end-user goods.
  • Now will be telling you about how the oil distrubution is causing conflict between areas. Oil fuels international conflict through eight distinct mechanisms: (1) resource wars, in which states try to acquire oil reserves by force; (2) petro-aggression, whereby oil insulates aggressive leaders such as Saddam Hussein or Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini from domestic opposition, and therefore makes them more willing to engage in risky foreign policy adventurism; (3) the externalization of civil wars in oil-producing states ("petrostates"); (4) financing for insurgencies—for instance, Iran funneling oil money to Hezbollah; (5) conflicts triggered by the prospect of oil-market domination, such as the United States' war with Iraq over Kuwait in 1991; (6) clashes over control of oil transit routes, such as shipping lanes and pipelines; (7) oil-related grievances, whereby the presence of foreign workers in petrostates helps extremist groups such as al-Qaida recruit locals; and (8) oil
  • The last thing I will be talking about is how I think the oil conflict can be solved. I think that if they could even out the oil that the countries could stop fighting.
