  • What should we do? We were not offered any training for this work
  • Hey yous, do we pay you to work or to just stand there? Get to work man!
  • Man, what do we do? Maybe we should just quit, clearly we are not meant to be here.
  • This is unfair treatment, can't we get anybody to help us about this? A trade union maybe?
  • I believe there is trade union for us, that is National Union of Mineworkers (NUM)
  • I don't think we have trade union that represents us as mine workers though,do we?
  • It is the first day of workers, they are told to do work they have not been trained for. They are all so schocked!
  • 1. Good day Sir, how may i help you today?
  • 4. On behalf of me and my colleages i say thank you Sir. If you manage to help us,count us as NUM members.
  • 2. Sir, my colleages and i have grievances that have not been resolved by our boss,we were put into the workplace without proper training.
  • Employees are having second thoughts about this job but,they are also trying to come up with suggestion on how to handle this matter.
  • 1. Sir we have received complaints from your employees that you froced them to do work that they were not properly trained for. Are you aware what you doing is illegal?
  • 2. How so? Their CV's show that they have experience for this job. The only mistake i can take blame on,is not training them
  • They finally come up with an idea they think might be their solution to this matter.
  • 2. Workers, i have decided to meet your demands halfway. I will give you the proper training of the jobs you are hired for,and the training will be compensated.
  • 3. Thank you so much organiser and to you boss for meeting our requirements. This is all that we wished for
  • One of the employees goes to the NUM to seek for help and advice on the issue.
  • 3. You are at the right place my team (NUM) and i will look into your matter and get back to you
  • Mr Nyathi (trade union organiser) sets meeting with Mr Williams (Employer) about the grievances the employees have.
  • 3. Appreciate you acknowledgement of your wrong doings. I hope you will train them and compensate them for the hours they have been working and training at the site
  • 4. I promise to obey the rules and i'm sorry for not practising my work ethics well. Thank you SIr
  • Mr Nyathi and Mr Williams meet with the workers at the work site to explain the outcomes of their grievances.
  • 1.Members of the NUM, as promised we have resolved the issue, you boss will explain to you now.
