Thinkers like Locke, Rousseau, Voltaire, Montesquieu, Wollstonecraft, and Kant challenged absolute monarchy and encouraged people to think for themselves. Their ideas influenced the American Revolution and the U.S. Constitution. Like a baseball team working together to win, these thinkers combined their ideas to change government and society and to win the game.
