- Greetings, My name is Father Aapo, which means Father Of Many Nations . I am a priest of The Mayans. I am known to be very famous around the Mayan community, I communicate with the gods.
- My Job as a priest is to be a keeper of knowledge. I have also learned and taught reading and writing.
- I am here to make a offering to the gods, soon people will gather.
- Some religious ceremonies were known for cutting out the heart, and offering it to the gods, this was done by my friend Nacom.
- I hold a religious ceremony once a month, religion is a big deal in our culture.
- I am known to be very skilled at math and science, I am also able to track the cycles of planets.
- I often fast for long periods of time, I also preform lots of rituals to the gods.

- These practices enabled priests to enter a trance state where they could talk to the gods and intercede with them for good weather or good omens for the people.
- At times, Maya priests would prophesy and foretell future events.
- Maya priests taught the youngsters of the nobles.
- Noble boys learned the glyph that made up the Maya alphabet and words.
- Anyone who wanted to be a scribe or priest studied extra, as there were hundreds of glyphs for them to learn.
