As they arrive at the border, they are greeted by one of the Nazis. They were being forced to either leave, or face consequences. They were unsure of what to do, both desperate to find their parents. Suddenly, an unexpected man saves them, telling the Nazi to back off and takes them both to his apartment
What are you kids doing here? Go or there WILL be consequences.
Leave the kids alone.
After the man takes them in, Felix and Zelda learn that his name is Barney. Barney had saved 7 other children, all living in one broken down apartment. A few days go by, and Zelda falls ill.
Everyone, welcome Zelda and Felix!
Felix breaks into peoples abandoned apartments, looking for some cure for Zeldas sickness. He is taken by surprise as Nazis enter, as he tries to run back to the shack, the Nazis follow.
After Felix unintentionally leads the Nazi to their shack, Barney, Zelda and the 7 other kids and Felix get sent to the death camp. They make a plan to escape, but only Zelda, Felix and one of the 7 kids, Chanya, decide to take the risk.
As they make a jump for it, Chayna unfortunately does make it. Felix and Zelda realise the true meaning of lucky, as they bury Chayna next to some flowers.
