It is now 2081 and everybody is equal. Nobody looks better, is stronger, or smarter than anybody else

In his story "Harrison Bergeron," Kurt Vonnegut makes the point that society can be torn apart from it's government. He tries to create the image of oppressed people under an oppressive government. An example is when Harrison is taken by the government. His parents are unaware however because of his mom's average intelligence and dad's radio that he wears due to the government. This radio interrupts his thoughts because he is actually one of the intelligent people.
