  • My counselor is awesome. She’s teaching me how to talk back to the bossy thoughts in my brain.It’s called CBT which is short for Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. Big words, right? But it’s kind of like brain training, and I’m getting better at it every week Some people with OCD take medicine to help their brains stay calm.I take a little pill each day. It doesn’t fix everything, but it helps me do the stuff I’m learning in therapy.It’s just one of the tools in my brain toolbox!
  • Here are my favorite tricks for when OCD tries to take over: Talk back to the bossy thoughts. Say, “No thanks, brain. I’ve got this.”Tell a grown-up you trust. Talking helps more than you think. Take a big belly breath. In... out... you’ve got this. Use your tools. Draw, play, sing, or just take a break.If you take medicine, that’s okay!It's just one more way to help your brain. Keep practicing. You're not perfect (no one is!), but you are brave.
