Growing hostility between parties led to a revolution to fight for the rights of common people. Led by the equestrians Tiberius Gracchus and Gaius Gracchus.
The Gracchi brothers introduced land reforms and land redistribution in order to help the poor regain their rights.

Patricians were not in favor of the Gracchi brothers proposal, as it would require them to give up some of their ownership. Unfortunately, their stand ended up leading to the brother's deaths.
