- Ancient Mesopotamia was divided into City- states by a Monarchy, meaning that it was ruled by one King or Queen. Priests and Priestesses were originally in charge though, they made decision based on signs they got from the gods. Some kings would pass away, and new ones were chosen, The first civilization was Sumer, they lived in City-States, that means they they were divided into small cities, each city state would fight for land. A famous king was Hammurabi. He created a set of 282 laws. They were written down as "An eye for an Eye." for example, anyone that has cut someone's hand off, will have their hand cut off too.

- Ancient Mesopotamia's economy was mainly based on currency, trade, and craftsmanship, and transportation. They traded goods through boats, donkeys, and camels to reach different civilizations like west of Egypt, Greece, and East as Pakistan. This motivates people to work harder to get resources. They would get money so that they can trade and buy goods.

- Ancient Mesopotamia's was divided into 4 social classes. 1- King, 2- Upper class, the upper class were based on people like priests and priestesses. 3- Lower class, These are slaves for the upper class, they are people like farmers or slaves. 4- lowest class, the lowest class are people taken from wars to be a slave. the social classes would determine what occupation you had in ancient Mesopotamia.
