The conflict is Montag VS Captain Beatty
Montag is in shock about the lady killing herself the night before. So he decides to quit his job.
My favorite scene is probably when montag shows his books to mildred since firefighters are meant to hate books, so it was very surprising.
The hearth and the Salamander The hearth being a symbol of the home and the salamander symbols the firemen, as well as their firetrucks.
