George Washington tried to force the french out of the Ohio River Vally, so he built fort Necessity about 40 miles away from the french Fort Duquesne but he was unsuccssesful in forcing them out
The British met with the Iroquis in what is known as The Albany Conference to try to form an alliance. The Iroquis refused, but they agreed to offer support. During this conference, Ben Franklin proposed the Albany Plan of Union, which was a proposal for a federal government in the colonies
To gain support for the Albany Plan of Union, Benjamin Franklin created the first political cartoon. It was a snake that was cut into pieces with the parts labeled as colonies and it was titled Join or Die However, it failed becaused no colony wanted to give up its power
Britain sent troops to the colonies to fight france. Edward Braddock was the commander of the army but was killed in battle. The Lenni-Lenape started to attack colonists in Pennsylvania which started the French and Indian war
In 1757 William Pitt became leader of British house of commons and poured alot of resources into the war, which helped Britain win. In 1763, the Treaty of Paris was signed, which officially ended the war. Britain gained all of the french land in north america east of the mississippi.
