- Hello everyone, my name is Domingo Garcia and I am the President of the League of United Latin American Citizens. Recently, there has been a shocking event where migrants from Venezuala have been tricked and manipulated with false promises from Republican leaders such as Florida Governer Ron DeSantis. Although there are many news stations reporting on it, the truth is still not being shown to the public. Today I will show you what REALLY happened.
- On September 15th, 48 Venezualan immigrants were put on a plane and flown to Marthas Vineyard by the authorizaion from Florida governer Ron DeSantis. This is after fellow Republican leader Greg Abbot began sending busloads of immigrants to Democratic states such as Chicago, New York, and Washington. They were loaded onto a bus here and shipped out.
- All of these immigrants were completely misled. They were promised food, housing, jobs, and even in some cases free medical care. They were given fake pamphlets showing resources and benefits for going. When they arrized at their destination, there was nothing waiting.
- I can't believe it! Its too good to be true!
- Republican leaders have created a false narrative, where all of the immigrants willingly signed up, and now have recieved the help they needed and benefited from the travel. This narrative does not show the true ending: In reality, many of these immigrants ended up homeless and in desperate need of resources because of the reckless acts of these politicians.
- Narrative Bias
- These actions are justified throigh the use of false claims that these immigrants are too much of a financial burden and these states cannot handle the overwhleming negative impact that immigrants bring. These claims cover up the gross misuse of human lives as a poltical power move. Even as these governers claim that imigrants are too much ofa burden,
- There are just too many immigrants! They come here to steal our jobs and take our money because they are lazy!
- Bad News Bias
