- To start off, I was born in a Jewish household way back in 1920, 13 years before the Nazis took power in 1933. And in late 1933, I had a feeling it would be a terrible event that would be catastropical.

- What happened afterwards? Did you get captured escaping the Nazis?
- You could say that, but on 1942, it started to become dangerous for my family after Germany invaded the Soviet Union. We decided to flee, but it was too late as Jews from where we were, were captured, executed either in camps, or taken to the gas chambers
- I decided it was best to escape at night into Russia, by plane, so I ran to the airport since I lived close by one. I knew a few high officials in Moscow, so it was safe for me to go since I was notable there and well known

- I barely escaped, but that was a night I'd never forget. I risked my life, but I escaped a Nazi guard, fled Ukraine, and arrived in Moscow days later. .
