Let's go grab a seat and I'll try to explain
Hey Cory in my day we recorded songs on tapes, how's it work these days?
First they capture the singers voice by converting the analog sound into a digital recording by sampling it about a thousand times a second.
Another thing to know is that various audio formats compress the data in different ways
Ok but how are the samples stored?
Well each sample is stored as a binary number, you know ones and zeros
Right, but what do the binary numbers represent?
Each binary number represents the audio level for that sample
Ok that makes sense. Let's go listen to some tunes
