You should be splitting your paycheck into different categories and adding money into your emergency savings about every time you get one

*Sigh* When receiving their paychecks, people normally split it 50/30/20. 50% for essentials, 30% for entertainment, and 20% for savings
If you get $200 for finding other people's balls, when you get your paycheck, you would put away $100 for essentials, $60 for entertainment and then $20 for your savings. Eventually your savings will add up so that you have enough for emergencies like this one!
