  • When simplifying the radical 5 multiplied by the square root of 150 I factored out 2,3,5,5 of 150 because it isn't a perfect square. What do I do next?
  • With doing that you would take the common factor that repeats twice (due to the fact it's a square) which is 5 and multiply that by the outside number.
  • After multiplying the factor 5 by the outside 5 and getting 25 what do I do with the remainding 2 & 3?
  • You multiply those together and they stay under the root sign because they aren't a perfect square.
  • SO MY FINAL ANSWER IS 25 multiplied by the square root of 6?!?!
  • YES!! HAVE A NICE DAY SEE YA LATER!!
  • Now when it comes to dividing radicals I got 12 multiplied by the square root of 160 divided by 2 multiplied by the square root of 5. My final answer was 6 multiplied by the square root of 32 after dividing like terms.
  • Remember earlier when you factored number out of the root. Now you will break the squart root into 2 parts that when multiplied by eachother get your original root number.
  • Ok, so 32 is the product of 16 multiplied by 2. WHat about the 6?
  • The 6 is still on the outside of the root sign while the 12 and 2 are under there own root signs.
  • Now your equation should look like 6 multiplied by 4 multiplied by the square root of 2. Your simplified answer should be 24 multiplied by the square root of 2.
  • Now with the 2 new numbers under the root sign wich one can you solve?
  • Well 16 is a perfect square that equals 4.
