- 1. Mateo, Luis´ son has autisim and has to walk to the school every day.
- “Mateo’s neighborhood has very few sidewalks, and many of them are damaged or blocked. Every day, walking to school becomes a challenge not only for him, but for many people in the community.”

- 2. The route that Mateo takes everyday has mostly streets without sidewalks.

- 3. Because of the lack of sidewalks Mateo had to walk close to the cars and that povoked him anxiety

- 4. A car honks loudly right next to Mateo, he panics and runs.
- “After hearing what happened to mateo the comunity choose to take action, this didn’t happen because Mateo did something wrong it happened because the street is not safe.”

- 5. Mateo never came back home and his parents Luis and Marisol came looking for him with help of the neighboors.

- 6. Luis and Marisol, reunited the neigboors to do a map of the quality os the sidewalks.
- The mayor told us it wil take a lot of time.
- We can´t keep living like this.

- 7. Luis and Marisol went to the city hall to ask for help to get the sidewalks fixed.
- In the meanwhile we can do this.
- Mateo will be safe now.

- 8. Luis and Marisol, reunited the neigboors to tell them the news about the time it will take to have the solution.

- 9. The neigboors got together and planed an an solution together meanwhile the town city fixes the streets.
- “After organizing and presenting their proposal, the community started to see changes. Temporary measures improved safety while the city worked on permanent sidewalk construction.”

- 10. The following weeks Mateo walked to the school safetly.
- “This experience showed that mobility and accessibility are part of the right to the city. Safe sidewalks are not a privilege they are a necessity for everyone, especially for people with disabilities.”
