- DECEMBER 4: The police surrounded the house James cross was kept in for 59 days. An agreement was met after negotiating and Cross was free while the kidnappers were flown to Cuba.
- DECEMBER 28: The members of the FLQ that were accused of kidnapping Pierre Laporte were caught outside of Montreal.
- The October Crisis is now over.
- The people of Quebec went back to their daily lives with a new mind. They knew violence was not the answer, but they also knew that they were not being given as much freedom as their English neighbours. It taught them and others the importance of the Quebec Independence movement.
