- Hello! This is astronomer Mysti! Zeva reporting from Saba Island! I am glad you came on the journey to find comet Hale-Bopp! Along the way, I will not only help you see this amazing part of science, but you will learn a lot too!
- We have spotted Comet Hale-Bopp. To the right of our beautiful waning crescent is the magnificent comet Hale-Bopp!! Let's zoom in a take a closer look.
- These are the three main parts of a comet. The Nucleus is the solid inner core of the comet. The coma is the fuzzy layer of the comet that was formed from clouds of dust and gas. The tails are at the end of the comet and even though you can't see it in Comet Hale-Bopp, the tails can be hundreds of kilometers long!

- This experience of comet watching is so amazing. It's like a movie in real life, so I would recommend snacks to enjoy while seeing this mountain sized comet. And yes, comets are about the size of a mountain!
- Fun fact: Comet Hale-Bopp and every other comet originally never had tails! Tails of a comet are created when comets get closer to the sun. The sun's energy pretty much melts the ice in the comet, which releases gas and dust. The gas and dust released is what we see as the gas and dust tails of the comet!
