- What about the high priest on earth? He can't even enter the holy of holies!
- Jesus can't be the perfect, ultimate high priest. No man is perfect, all of the past high priests had to have a replacement.
- Jesus tore that curtain when he died, he is our mediator to God, no longer a human needs to do that for the people.
- Jesus is the Son of God, the is the ultimate high priest because he is the eternal son of God
- Sacrifices are important , they cover our sins for the day and bring us closer to God.
- So with Jesus, sacrifice I don't have to sacrifice everyday with the High priest?
- Exactly! Jesus is the Ultimate sacrifice, he died once to cover our sins forever, for repentant sinners.
- He isn't, no man can be perfect, every high priest has to even offer sacrifices for himself.
- So how does Jesus have this Power to be like our ultimate high priest?
- Actually, Jesus is perfect man and perfect God, he was called by God
- No, he's not a perfect high priest, people aren't perfect, we have to work to be good enough.
- But how is Jesus still important after he died? Can he still qualify as the greatest high priest?
- Of course he can, he's can sympathize with our weakness as he was a human like us!
- We still should sacrifice though to ensure this future, we need to live a works filled life to earn salvation
- Does all this still matter for me and you, especially so far into the future?
- Of course! Because of him we have hope for a great future, that he is the forerunner for.
- Guys! Jesus conquered the grave to give us a great hope for the future!! He is the guarantor of a better covenant. And paved the way for us if only we have faith, he is the Son of God. We have hope because he is our great high priest who left and empty grave!
