התחלת יחידה או שיעור בעזרת אוצר המילים העיקרי בהבנה ובשימור הכללי. בפעילות זו התלמידים ייצרו לוח סיפור המגדיר וממחיש את אוצר המילים שנמצא בספר Walk Two Moons מאת שרון קריק. התלמידים ייצרו מפת עכביש של 3-5 מונחים על פי שיקול דעתם של המורים. כל תא יכיל מונח או רמיזה, הגדרתו או תיאורו, והמחשה מתאימה.
