Here Halku and Munni are arguing over whether they should pay the landlord or if they should buy a blanket. In the end they agreed that they pay the landlord and halku will sleep in the cold outside without a blanket.
After some time of sleeping down in the cold, halku got up and collected some dried leaves to lit a fire
Halku sat in front of the fire and warmed himself. After some time Jabra started to bark. This meant that there were wild animals in the field
Jabra ran off to chase the animals off from the field. Halku's drowsiness overcame him even when he tried to get up and go to the field the cold wind forced him to sit down.
The next day when Munni and halku went to the field it was fully ruined. All the crops were stepped on by wild animals.
Halku's face was content as he will no longer need to sleep in the cold January night, but Munni's face was shadowed with grief. Munni told Halku to get a new job as a tenant farmer.
