- Once upon a time, there was a girl named Meg who was going to New York from San Diego to visit her best friend that lived there

- Once arriving, she went to check-in and received her boarding pass, going straight to security check after
- Meg completed security check, but along the way, she lost her boarding pass!! Meg, ultimately, was heartbroken.
- Sobbing in the airport, Meg wept to herself:
- I can't believe I lost my ticket! I don't know which gate to go to now to get a new one!
- Meg, however, persevered! She went throughout the airport trying to find her correct gate, as it was the only way for her to get a new boarding pass

- NATIONAL GATES
- If I didn't know where I was going, I'd have a 1/2 chance of picking the right gate, but since I am going to New York from San Diego, I must go right to the national gates!

- Hmm..the only thing I remember from my ticket is that the gate letter was a vowel, so that only leaves me with a 1/3 chance of picking the right gate

- Meg decided to go to go through gates D-F, hoping she had picked the right one...

- Yes! The New York gate is here!

- YAY!! Meg chose the right section! But she still didn't know which gate was for New York
- What could give me a hint to which gate is for New York??
- She decided to think a little more...

- I remember more! My gate letter wasn't one of the first 3 letters of the alphabet, that leaves me with a 1/2 or 50% chance of picking the right gate

- Yes! Here you go, and hurry! Your plane departs in 3 minutes!
- Meg picked gate F with an even chance of being right or wrong, and as a result...she was right! What are the ODDS?
- Meg freaking RAN as fast as she could!
- I lost my boarding pass earlier! Can I get a new one??
- Meg took away different odds that weren't necessary for her to calculate the probability of her correct gate, leaving her with only the necessary conditions
