- Integers are defined as: Any negative and positive whole numbers, including zero. An integer can describe situations in the real world. Next are a few examples.
- The anthill in Gerald's back yard has an elevation of 2 ft. (+2)
- The girl dove off the diving board and got a ring at the bottom of an 8 ft. pool. (-8)
- The kids jump off the 3ft balcony to the ground during their game of tag. (-3)
- The wave had a swell of 6 meters above sea level. (+6)
- The robber steals 3,452 gold coins. The dungeon now has -3,452 coins than they had earlier that day.
