The witches return to Macbeth and Banquo. They tell Macbeth he will be thane of Cawdor and the new King. They tell Banquo his children will be kings.

Lady Macbeth reads a letter from her husband about his promotion to Thane of Cawdor. She sees this as an opportunity to seize power
Lady Macbeth enters and tries to spur him to action. She says they should get King Duncan’s servants drunk so they pass out and then frame them as if they killed the king.

Macbeth and Banquo show up to the castle and questions Macbeth why he can’t sleep

Macbeth starts to imagine a floating dagger going to the kings room

Macbeth finally makes up his mind and kills the king, he is struck with instant fear claiming he will never be innocent again
I can hear the whole castle and world screaming at me.
Lady Macbeth yells at Macbeth to clean up after himself and to put the daggers back on the guards
Clean up yourself, you're covered in blood and give me the daggers!
Were not done our children need to be kings!
Lady Macbeth are claimed as king and queen and Macbeth states more needs to be done...
