- Titania has been taking care of a baby. Oberon feels neglected and thinks that the baby is getting too much love and attention. He comes up with a plan to take the baby away from Titania. He will get a flower that has been struck by Cupid´s bow, and he will put it on Titania´s eyes while she sleeps, and when she wakes up, she hopefully will see some sort of animal, and she will fall in love with it. Oberon thinks that because she will be so in love with the animal, he will be able to steal the baby without her even noticing. While he is forming this plan, he hears an argument between Helena and Demetrius. Helena is telling Demetrius that she loves him and he is telling her to stop bothering him. Oberon feels bad for Helena and decides that he will also put a flower on Demetrius´s eyes, so when he wakes up, he will fall in love with Helena. So he tells Puck to go get the flower and put it on a man who is in the woods wearing Athenian garments.

- Helena followed Demetrius into the woods and chased him, telling him her feelings. Demetrius told her continuously that he didn´t love her back, so she had to stop following him. Helena didn´t stop chasing him; she kept telling him her feelings even though he didn´t agree.

- Lysander and Hermia met up in the woods and decided to rest for the night. Next, Puck came and placed the flower on a man wearing Athenian garments, but instead of Demetrius, he accidentally placed it on Lysander. Then, Helena found Lysander and thought he was injured, or even dead. She woke him up, but since she was the first person he saw, due to the Cupid´s bow struck flower, he fell in love with her. He tried telling her this, but she thought he was making fun of her for chasing Demetrius, so she left the woods, but Lysander followed her, and left Hermia all alone.
