Proclamation of 1763Parliament passed this proclamation saying that the colonists couldn't settle west of the Appalachian Mountains. They were trying to keep peace with the Natives living there, but this only angered the colonists.

Quartering Act of 1765Soldiers patrolled the neighborhood streets to "keep peace" and act as a police force. So, this act was passed so that the colonists would provide basic needs, such as food and clothing, to the soldiers.
Oh dear! How must I be expected to house so many soldiers? We already don't have enough food and clothing..
Too bad! It's the law, woman! Now give us something good to eat!
