Hello I am Charles Darwin. I took a trip to South American, Australia, and the Galapagos Islands in 1831.

My journey took about 5 years. It lasted from December 1831 to October 1836. It was on my ship the HMS Beagle. This trip gave me knowledgeto share with the world.

I studied all types of organisms like animals, rocks, and plants during my trip. I focused on the differences in tortoisesand birds on different islands. during my trip.

When looking at the birds I noticed was natural selection between the finches. The bird with the pointiestbeak always gets their prey easier.

An example of these differences would be of tortitoises between Hood and Isabela Isalnd. On Hood Island they had longer necks then ones from Isabela Island where as they have a hunched neck. These differences are because of the land.

Natural selection is the process whereby organisms better adapted to their own environmenttend to survive and produce more offspring.
