- Jimmy, I heard you're thinking about joining the Catholic faith! I'd recommend you to be baptized!
- Yeah Father David! My friends suggested to join the faith. However, I don't know what you mean by 'baptized.' What is it?
- Well Jimmy, Baptism is the celebration of welcoming into the church! It is the rebirth of a person and washes away the original sin of Adam and Eve.
- Oh, that sounds like a very important ritual...Why should I do it though? Isn't praying enough?

- Why should you be baptized? Well, there are a lot of reasons!
- Baptism welcomes us into the Kingdom of God! It helps us to identify ourselves as Christians and it provides a spiritual resistance to sin and temptation.
- Think of it as a washing your hands and putting on gloves. Baptism washes away the 'bad' already on you and the 'gloves' of baptism help to protect against more sin!
- Hmm, sounds like I should be baptized!What happens during baptism, father?

- Well Jimmy, in Baptism, a baptismal candle is lit for you to hold onto! This candle is the light which guides you and dispels the darkness.
- They also put an oil called Chrism on your chest and head to symbolized being chosen and anointed, as well as for asking God for strength!
- They then dunk you in water, signifying the cleansing of the old and rising to new life with Christ.
- Lastly they clothe you in a white garment symbolizing the newness of life in Christ, and the transformation of one's spirit and body into a new one.
- Wow, this all seems very important in our faith journey, Father!Whoops look at the time though! I got to go!Thanks Father!
